Organizational Questions
Every manager in the company will use the My Team page to enter merit increases for their direct reports. If you need to enter merit increases for employees within your reporting structure but who do not report to you directly, simply find their manager in the hierarchy on the My Org page or search for them in the Search bar, and click on his/her name. This will take you to that manager’s My Team page and allow you to act on their behalf.
While this is not a common situation during the merit planning cycle, it can occur. Your HR Administrator has the ability to reflect the termination directly in SimplyMerit. If the terminated employee remains in the application, you may simply ignore that person or ask that your HR Administrator change his/her salary to zero (0) so that it doesn’t impact the merit budget. For further information, reach out to your HR Administrator using the “Contact Support” link at the bottom of the SimplyMerit application.
This field provides a live update regarding the budget you’ve been allotted for your direct reports merit increase and how much of that budget you’ve allocated to your team. This is an important field to monitor as your are allocating your increases to ensure that you are utilizing your budget effectively. It should be noted that, in addition to the Merit Amount driving the Total Merit Allocated value, your company may have also configured the application such that Other Amount and/or Lump Sum Amount may also be deducted from the Total Merit Allocated.
The recommended merit increase range is configured by your HR Administrator based on Performance Rating. For further information, reach out to your HR Administrator using the “Contact Support” link at the bottom of the SimplyMerit application.
SimplyMerit supports proration rules for employees who were either hired in the last twelve months or who have received a salary adjustment in the last twelve months. These rules are optional but will cause the Merit Amount to be prorated. When such a proration exists, SimplyMerit will display the Proration Percent on the My Team page.
Comments throughout the application are viewable by everyone up the chain from you in your organizational hierarchy. Additionally, your HR Administrator also has access to all comments within SimplyMerit.
SimplyMerit will utilize email to communicate directly with you. You will receive email notifications when your approval request has been modified, approved, or rejected. Additionally, you will receive email notifications of approval requests from managers who report to you.
SimplyMerit can be configured with automatic reminders for those managers who have not completed their tasks leading up to the completion date. Your HR Administrator may keep the system open beyond the completion if needed.
