Can You Teach Curiosity & Creativity?

Myth, Muscle, or Mindset?

Two critical workforce capabilities. But can we actually develop them?

According to the World Economic Forum’s Future of Jobs Report 2025, creative thinking ranks #4, and curiosity and lifelong learning rank #8 among today’s core workforce skills. Both are expected to grow in importance through 2030.

Yet here’s the challenge: We tell employees to think differently, challenge assumptions, and bring new ideas to the table. But are we developing these capabilities, or unintentionally creating workplaces that shut them down?

Can curiosity and creativity really be taught? Do we need to screen for them?  Or are they mindsets we can develop by changing how we lead, learn, and work?

Join us alongside HR, Total Rewards, Talent, and business leaders for an interactive ElevateComp session where we’ll challenge a few myths, exchange real-world experiences, and explore how organizations can strengthen these increasingly important workforce capabilities.

Together, we’ll explore:

  • Myth or Truth? Are curiosity and creativity natural talents, learned skills, or mindsets we can develop?
  • Build, Buy, or Borrow? How can organizations develop these capabilities, hire for them, or bring in fresh perspectives?
  • The Culture Factor: What leadership behaviors and workplace practices encourage curiosity and creativity, and which ones quietly shut them down?
  • Creating the Conditions: How can we create environments where people feel empowered to question, experiment, and innovate?

Drawing on MorganHR’s WELLNESS® Workforce Readiness framework, we’ll connect these conversations to the bigger challenge of building workforce capability for 2030.

Expect a few fun activities that challenge common myths, plenty of opportunities to exchange ideas, and real-world stories you just might want to steal!

Come ready to challenge your thinking, share your experiences, and leave with a few fresh ideas to bring back to your organization.
